We have posted a few times about mobile and responsive testing tools, but never before have we talked about a usability tool for mobile web designs…

Plunk is a new app from Zurb that tracks exactly where users tap on your mobile site. To implement, you simply upload an image file of the page you want to test and you’ll get a URL to share with your test group. You can use the in-built tools to share your test via email, Twitter and Facebook.

Once the test is set up you will have access to all of the taps made by the users. The test will give you an idea of where visitors will try to  tap to access your navigation, or where they might be getting lost. Learning where these mistakes are being made will help you to make decisions to improve the layout and functionality of your site or app.

If you want to share the results of your test, you can add a ‘+’ symbol to the end of your URL to see your test results and then share them with others.

There is a 48-hour time limit to Plunk tests, which means they are super quick to complete, meaning you can quickly move onto making those important changes to your site. Best of all, Plunk is completely free to use!

Have you used Plunk on your mobile site? Let us know what you think  in the comments.
